The construction industry has undergone significant changes over the years, with advancements in technology leading the way. Building on 30+ years of technology development experience, Caterpillar is focused on creating technology that allows all customers to adopt and benefit from the tech, without creating additional risks. This session will focus on how technology is helping to enhance productivity, efficiency and safety in the construction industry, for individual machines, operators and sites.
BIOGRAPHY:
Todd Farmer is Product Manager of the Construction Digital & Technology (CD&T) product group, part of the Autonomy and Automation group of Caterpillar. The CD&T business includes product, market, and business strategies and execution that help establish Caterpillar as a leader in construction technology. Todd has responsibility for all aspects of the CD&T business, including growing the adoption of scalable technology solutions that optimise and automate customer operations, enabling machine and parts sales.
Prior to this role, he served as the automation and strategy manager for Building Construction products, Houston District Manager within the distribution organization, New Product Introduction Manager for Mini Hydraulic Excavators, and various engineering and field facing roles.
During his 23-year tenure at Caterpillar, Todd has played a key role in the development and production of foundational machine technologies including 2D and 3D grade, operator assist functionality, electronic hydraulic systems, and machine performance management controls.
He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
