TOPIC: Advancing autonomy technology in construction

In this session we will discuss the technical, social, and economic factors that are driving the need for advanced vehicles in the construction industry. We will also discuss the market forces that are creating the need for more vehicles with high operator assistance functions and a future state of driverless automation. This discussion will include some of the significant challenges OEMs and suppliers face with new technologies and ”edge case” management around the vehicle and job site. During the discussion we will also focus on how to overcome these challenges and the future of the off-highway autonomous vehicle industry.

BIOGRAPHY
Peter joined Danfoss in October 2019 as an innovation specialist at the Danfoss Innovation Accelerator in Cambridge, Massachusetts. 

In October 2020, he took on the challenge of growing the new PLUS+1 Autonomy business as head of autonomous vehicles. 

Since 2020, he has overseen the launch of one advanced hardware product, more than 20 software products, and six partnerships critical to the growth of Danfoss Power Solutions’ newest business. 

Prior to joining Danfoss, Peter was the engineer officer on the nuclear-powered attack submarine USS Pasadena, and served in multiple engineering, tactical, and leadership roles in the US submarine force. 

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, and a Master of Business Administration from the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
